I'll be back

Between vacationing in Oregon in late July and now working 6 days a week, I haven't had time to add to the blog. As I've mentioned before, summer isn't my favorite time of the year to hike the local forest anyway. Maybe I'll catch up o the blog posts in a month or so.

The photo is Klamath Lake looking north from the Running Y Ranch in south central Oregon. The orange sunset and overcast sky is not due to clouds. It's smoke from the fires in northern California.

Lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer

Apologies to Nat King Cole. The heat of the summer is not the best time to go hiking in then Santa Ana Mountains. It's just too hot and there are too many bugs. Oh I still do it, but mostly for the exercise and not the inspiration. I've been too lazy to get to the trailhead by sunup, which is the only sane time to hike with the summertime highs pushing one hundred. So this 4th, we went to the RSM lake to watch the fireworks show - which was excellent. Here are a few more photos.
